Did four miles at work yesterday, in 59 minutes. All good. But I really don't think I can do that for thirteen miles. For reals.

So I did 3.5 on the road last night. I pretty much walked the last mile, but I felt pretty good for the first 2, so that was good.

Mysteriously this morning I had lost 3 pounds. AFTER all of the birthday festivities. I'm not sure what happened there, but I'll take it. Maybe my higher thyroid meds are now kicking in?

On my 40th I did only 2, but it was a beautiful and spiritual 2. Last night I got back on the wagon and did 3 on the treadmill. I mixed up my pace though and I did some at 11.5 min miles, some at 11 and even some at 10. It started out really hard but ended good. And, I didn't gain any weight over the long birthday weekend so that's good. Although I have two loaves of delicious choc chip banana bread to tempt me all week!!

Another four

I'm doing the four miles in under an hour now. JUST under an hour. Like thirty seconds under an hour. But still.

Did another four this morning. It's snowing here again. We are putting in an offer on this house that has this really big basement and we were talking last night how we would set up the treadmill in the basement so that on days like this we can just do that instead of drive to the gym. The house is a VA repo and we are getting a fucking STEAL!! Can't wait to tell you all about it tonight! Send good energy that we get it!

Anyways, so my exercise is done for the week and I am ready to enjoy the weekend with my sistas!

Took an extra long lunch break today and did four miles. Ran and walked. It was pretty awesome. Not going tomorrow and my current plan is to go Friday morning before work, but that requires quite a bit of discipline on my part, so I'm not optimistic about it.


Haven't been posting BUT . . . I swam a mile on Sunday and then ran 3 on Monday. Took yesterday off due to travel but just did about 3 I think on beautiful Kauai. And I will most definitely go tomorrow, as it is my 40th birthday and I have something to prove. haha.

I sort of went

I did 3.2 this morning, but sort of gave up and walked for the last mile or so. I haven't gone since I last posted and it was quite a bit warmer than the last time I went. So I got nauseous. But, it's better than nothing!

I'm Done

Done with this crazy-making goal that is. I weighed this morning, after eating around 1700 calories yesterday and doing the bike for 45 minutes and I am back up to 205. So, I'm done. Done weighing every day, done trying to make this stupid under 200 goal by Friday.

I'm still getting my tattoo! And this has been a very good way to kick myself in the ass and get back on track with my eating and exercise, which is really really good and will presumably EVENTUALLY lead to getting over this plateau, but I'm pretty sure that this is a very genuine plateau for my body, it just really really likes being this weight and is loathe to let go of any more. So, okay. I'm taking tomorrow off on exercise, (getting ready to leave right now for running) and will weigh on Tuesday or Wednesday and that is it for me.

Why the odd number? I did the Pat Tillman race today. 12.2 min miles which isn't bad considering my lack of exercise lately. And, good news, my hip STILL isn't hurting, so I think I'm healed from that, thank Goddess.

I was supposed to run yesterday at work. Then, I was supposed to run today at work. I did neither. BUT, I did go tonight to my gym and I had convinced myself that I would do the bike, but when I got there I changed my mind and I did end up running. Did four miles, half run half walk. Very very glad I went. Although I think I need new shoes. I had some tingly toes tonight which never happens to me. I think I got these shoes right before we did that OC race. When was that? May? It's probably time for a new pair.

Oh and I did the bike for a half hour yesterday. I wasn't happy about it though, it felt like I should have taken the day off. So, I am taking today off and will run tomorrow.

Ok so I swam a mile tonight. Pretty happy with that. Am quite tired. Came home and ate like a hog. I don't know how to manage the hungries that come after a good workout. I mean, I had some pasta and a protein smoothie, and then about 10 nestle crunch eggs. Sigh.

Mari, so awesome that you're going at lunch!

On a funny note, I bought some of that Activia at the store yesterday thinking it would be good breakfast and might help regularize me. K ate all four of them after school today (I know, what a complete turd). But she was in the bathroom for about an hour tonight. HAHAHAHA!!! That'll teach you to pig out on mom's food! LOL.
Well, I went running on my lunch break. Two miles. Ran half. I am back down to my usual 205.2, but I'm not that optimistic, since in my experience weight that you gain because of a specific event always comes off pretty easily if you give it even a half assed effort. It's those same five pounds that will be the real challenge. I've done really well yesterday and today though.


I'm pleased to report that I did 3 on the treadmill yesterday. Probably ran about 2 of it. But my hip didn't hurt, and it doesn't hurt today either, so maybe I'm finally better. Yay! After my run I did a little bit of resistance work - stomach crunches and other core work. I'm going to the gym tonight. I am. I AM.
Did an hour on the bike yesterday. Will likely run today at work. I have to admit though that my current motivation is more weight loss than training for any half marathon, even though I know it won't help too much.

I had a really great 3 miles this morning. I powered up the hills and flew down them. I didn't even get close to tired until the very end. I did 13:45-minute miles which is faster than I have done since before I got sick! woohoo!!
I ran yesterday during lunch break, two miles. Will do the bike today.

Did the 2

It only snowed in the morning hours yesterday so I did 2 after Leslie and I got home from her work. (I was helping her by organizing mountains of clothing that was donated for needy students.) I never thought I could be an afternoon runner, but I think maybe I can. I was tired but I knew that the run would feel so good and it did. Today however, every inch of me hurts and I'm not sure if I overdid the running, it's the altitude, the squishy bed I'm sleeping in, or a combination of all of the above. All I know is OWW.

Boy did I go

I got to Pinetop yesterday with full intentions of doing a 5-miler. Well I left earlier than I was supposed to so there was nobody home to let me in! I had my bag in the car so I changed in the shed, filled up my camelbak with the hose and off I went. I went up Porter Mountain Road. The way up was really great although I did a lot of walking on the uphill parts. The way back was rugged... the most wicked headwind I have ever been accosted by, and it was cold because I was sweating! The end result is I made it. 14-minute miles even. Woohoo!! Would like to do 2 today but it's snowing so I'm really not sure I will do it.
